Ultrasounds

A 2 dimensional ultrasound creates 2 dimensional images in greyscale only. This is a classic appearing sonogram. 2D ultrasounds are available any time after 5 weeks into your pregnancy. If you would like an early, first trimester ultrasound (less than 8 weeks) it is best viewed by a transvaginal approach. This gives you optimal visualization of your little babe brewing. If you are not comfortable with that, please let us know and we will accommodate you.

A 5D or HD ultrasound uses the same sound wave technology as 2D, however, the image is then rendered to create the 3D effect after the image is obtained then has a realistic style rendering incorporated. 5D images are printed both in color and black and white. 5-dimensional ultrasounds are available at Maternal Mantra during all weeks, but if you are looking for that little chubby cheek baby face, the best weeks to have one fall between 26 and 32 weeks gestation. After 32 weeks the baby has a greater chance of being more smushed/lowered into the pelvis, but I will still do them at any time!
